Designed in collaboration with Caon Design Office, Third Floor is a private bar occupying an entire floor of a Sydney residence.

Conceived as a dedicated space for entertaining, the project brings together a series of distinct elements – a temperature-controlled wine cabinet, bar, fireplace and sitting room – within a single, carefully composed interior. Rather than being conceived as separate rooms, each part is defined through material and form, creating a sequence of spaces that read as one.

The interior is characterised by solidity and softened edges. A robust material palette of stone, timber and metal gives the room a sense of permanence, while much of the design is concerned with how these materials meet each other. Carefully resolved junctions, curved transitions and integrated details create a calm and cohesive interior.

Rich in materiality and intimate in scale, Third Floor is conceived as a room for gathering, where craft, atmosphere and careful attention to detail shape the experience of entertaining.
